Be ready to present for graded discussion this quote's history (what it means to the person who said it, when and where it was said first, by whom, under what circumstances, etc..), any grammatical or rhetorical techniques that add to its impact, and relate in as personal terms as you feel comfortable it's unique relationship to you. Be ready to talk for about 2 minutes. Choose your quote from anywhere--past or present, but choose wisely. Remember this quote reflects you and is something you should be proud to share. Email a copy of your quote to the Buccaneer.

Introduce A Thousand Splendid Suns projects: Group Work on TSS Projects:-Historical/Literary Analysis: Each group will be responsible for presenting: 1. Two timelines: one with real events--and explanations of those events-- that occurred in Afganistan during the time Hosseini writes about in your given chapters, and one with correlating events that occur during the novel. The timeline presentation should be followed by an analysis of how historically accurate your chapters are. Remember to triangulate (find at least 3 sources on your historical events and cite them in presentation) (30 pts) 2. A list of 10 questions for the class on the given chapters on the topics of style analysis, treatment of women, and literary themes or motifs. See samples.
