The University School International Relations Club focuses on encouraging students to actively participate in negotiation, diplomacy, and problem-solving with a background in International Relations through participation in Model United Nations Conferences. The Model United Nations is a realistic simulation of the actual United Nations and other international crisis management bodies. University School's IRC team attends competitive conferences where dozens of top high schools from around the nation represent one or more countries, with each country sending delegates to various committees and councils. Some delegates may also participate in specialized bodies that address specific world crisis situations, but the goal of all the delegates is understand the views and beliefs of his own and other nations and to work with fellow delegates to resolve disputes and issues stemming from current international problems.
